Cerebrospinal fluid
The basic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) parameters (cell count, CSF/ serum albumin ratio, glucose, lactate, immunoglobulin ratio, oligoclonal bands) are normal in CJD patients.
Detection of brain-derived proteins in CSF helps in the differential diagnosis.
Currently, the detection of 14-3-3 proteins in CSF is the most important test.
